Discourse Workshop
In a 120 minute-discourse workshop, several didactic initiatives or measures are examined and discussed with a view to their effect on the regular operation of the university. A discourse workshop comprises of at least two, at most four perspectives from different contributors and will usually consider questions of implementation/transferability of the measure presented. The aim of the discourse workshop is to actively involve the participants in connecting the different perspectives. The group is responsible for the design of the entire discourse workshop. The discourse workshop should be planned and presented methodically for between 20 to 50 participants.
Workshop
Workshops focus on a particular didactic measure, project or development with relation to one of the thematic fields. Their aim is to actively discuss or develop the presented project/topic with the participants with a view to establishing the likely impact and possible limitations of the approach presented on instructional practices. Workshops last for a duration of 120 minutes each, input from the organisers should not exceed 20 minutes. The organisers are free in how they involve the participants in the workshop (provided they involve them actively). The workshop activities should be planned and methodically presented for a maximum of 20 participants.
Short Presentation
Short presentations address a particular aspect of one of the thematic fields in a presentation of up to 20 minutes (followed by a brief discussion). The presenter(s) should also prepare some questions arising from the presentation. The program committee and section chairs will group several short presentations with (where possible) a common topic/focus into an ‘Impulse Forum‘.
Poster Presentation – Open Poster Gallery
The individual posters must relate to one of the thematic fields and are to be accompanied either by (a) presenter(s) able to answer further questions; alternatively, they can be linked (by QR-code) to a short audio or video message (3-10 minutes) which provides the reader with further information on the project/topic at hand.
Transfermarket Higher Education Teaching & Learning
With the Transfer-Market for teaching and learning, dghd2020 is piloting a new format in this conference. Our aim is to make the strong impulses for change in Higher Education teaching and learning that come from engaged teaching staff and students more visible and to create a space for discussion that brings teachers, students and educational developers together informally. At the Transfer-Market innovative teaching projects from any discipline or academic subject will be discussed. The best presentations will receive an audience award!
Doctoral Research Forum - Pre-Conference
The doctoral research forum aims to provide support and feedback for PhD students engaged in research around learning, teaching and educational development in higher education. In particular, doctoral students in the early stages of their research project are invited to present their research project or design and discuss it with others. The doctoral research forum will be hosted by members of the dghd’s research commission and representatives from the dghd PhD network.
There is a special deadline for submissions to the doctoral research forum: 12 January 2020! Further Informations here.
