The DAAD has published several calls
The published calls provide funding for projects.

In its third central call for applications, the DAAD has published calls for a total of nine programs. The Academic Horizons program is completely new.
The following programs are available for Latin America:
- Guest Lecturer Program (Gastdozent/innenprogramm): Funding for visiting stays by international university lecturers. These can last between 3 and 12 months. It is also possible to fund visiting chairs for up to 24 months. Deadline: January 15, 2026.
- Academic Horizons - Attracting Global Minds: This program strengthens German universities in their efforts to specifically target, recruit, and integrate excellent international master's and doctoral candidates. It supports the expansion of recruitment, onboarding, and support structures to promote the long-term retention of highly qualified international academics and scientists in Germany as a center of science and innovation. Deadline: February 2, 2026.

Development-related accompanying seminars – advanced training for specialists and managers from the Global South (Entwicklungsbezogene Begleitseminare - Fortbildung von Fach-und Führungskräften aus dem globalen Süden): Advanced training and continuing education as well as networking measures are supported (intercultural dialogue events on integration and conflict resolution; excursions to German and international development cooperation institutions; training measures for professional reintegration; accompanying seminars for professional networking). Deadline: Applications must be submitted at least 8 weeks before the planned start of the accompanying seminar (including preparation time), no later than October 9, 2026.
