Round Table “Study and Research in Germany – Scholarship and Funding Programs” in the context of Max Planck Science Tunnel
Several German and Brazilian institutions, as CNPq, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Max Planck Society and the Freie Universität Berlin inform about study and research funding and scholarships in Germany.
The first part of the event, starting at 1.30 pm, will address opportunities for doing a Doctorate or Postdoc in Germany offered by German funding agencies and non-university research institutions. The second part, starting at 2.40 pm, consists of a round table with representatives from German universities in which Freie Universität Berlin takes part.
Today, German Universities offer multiple ways to do a Doctorate in an international research environment, as for example in Structured and Interdiscplinary PhD Programs or traditionally through an Individual Doctorate. Most of the Doctoral Education is in English. German Universities also provide help to Junior Researchers in planning the next steps of their academic career, as for example FU Berlin through its Career Path Model. The event is a chance to get informed about advantages and details of these various ways of doctoral education.
