№ 202/2020 from Oct 29, 2020
A virtual panel discussion on the topic of digitalization at universities will be taking place on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. at Freie Universität Berlin. The participants of the first Una Europa Talk belong to universities in four different European cities. In addition to Freie Universität, the Una Europa alliance includes Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, University of Edinburgh, Helsingin Yliopisto/Helsingfors Universitet, Uniwersytet Jagielloński w Krakowie, KU Leuven, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. The network is sponsored by the European Commission within the framework of the European Universities Initiative.
The Una Europa Talk is set to take place once a year and will broach different highly topical issues, switching between different partner universities. The event on November 4 will be broadcast live on the Una Europa YouTube channel. The Una Europa Talk is part of the Berlin Science Week 2020 event series.
The Una Europa Talk will address questions like: What will the future of digital academic cooperation look like? How will digital tools influence teaching methods at universities? Which virtual platforms and tools might academics use in the future? Will networking on site become a thing of the past? How does virtual team building work? And what role will artificial intelligence play in the development of new practices? One student and three academics, who are members of the Una Europa Alliance, will discuss these and other questions from their campuses in Helsinki, Krakow, Leuven, and Berlin. The event has been planned with a broad audience in mind – experts as well as the general public are welcome to attend.
