Dr. Miri Yemini Receives Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship

Israeli Education Researcher is Visiting Scholar at Freie Universität Berlin

The Israeli education researcher Dr. Miri Yemini has received a Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. As a visiting researcher at the Department of Educational Research and Social Systems at Freie Universität Berlin, she will deal with the topic of interactions between nongovernmental organizations and schools. Her academic host is Professor Dr. Nina Kolleck at the Department of Education and Psychology.

Miri Yemini studied natural science and biotechnology at Tel Aviv University, Israel. After completing her doctorate, she studied materials science at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. Her research involves theoretical understanding of educational systems with a focus on internationalization and globalization of education. Miri Yemini is the co-editor of the journals International Journal of Educational Development and Multicultural Education Review. Since 2018, she has held the UNESCO Chair of Technology, Internationalization and Education at Tel Aviv University together with education scholar Professor Rafi Nachmias. As part of her research stay at Freie Universität, Yemini explores the interaction between nongovernmental organizations and schools in the context of internationalization and social networks.

The Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers is a program of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which according to the Foundation, annually awards up to 500 of these fellowships to postdoctoral researchers and experienced researches from all over the world. The Humboldt Foundation maintains a worldwide network of more than 28,000 alumni across all disciplines.
