QS Ranking 2017/2018: Freie Universität Berlin Remains One of Six Best Universities in Germany

Freie Universität Ranked 125 Worldwide

According to the prestigious QS World University Ranking, which is published annually, Freie Universität remains one of the six best universities in Germany. Ranked 125 worldwide, the university was also able to maintain its strong position internationally (2016/2017: rank 123), as announced by Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd. on Thursday in London. Since the last QS ranking, the university again showed improvement in the reputation of its graduates among employers as well as in its academic reputation, which was already very high.

The highest ranked German university is Technische Universität München at Rank 64 worldwide. The other top German universities are Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (66), the University of Heidelberg (68), the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT, 107), and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (120).

Six indicators were evaluated: the academic reputation of the institution, the number of citations by researchers, the ratio between students and faculty, the reputation of graduates among employers, and the international composition of faculty and students.
