Adriano de Marchi Fernandes to Do Research at Freie Universität
Economist from Brazil Wins German Chancellor Fellowship from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

The economist Adriano de Marchi Fernandes from Brazil has won a German Chancellor Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and will use it to spend eleven months at Freie Universität Berlin doing research at the Institute for Latin American Studies. Fernandes will be advised by the economist Prof. Dr. Barbara Fritz. During his stay from November 2016 to September 2017, he will investigate financial instruments in the capital markets for long-term financing of infrastructure projects in Brazil.
Adriano de Marchi Fernandes was born in 1983. He studied economics at the Instituto de Ensino e Pequisa, Insper in São Paulo, Brazil. He gained work experience as a financial analyst at Siemens Communications, as well as at a financial services firm and in the financial sector.
The German Chancellor Fellowship Programme of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is aimed at internationally oriented university graduates with first leadership experience from the United States, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, Brazil, and India. The target group is aspiring decision makers, multipliers, and innovators from a wide range of work areas, including politics, public administration, economy, society, and culture.
