Anyone born before January 1, 2009, may run the routes between 3.5 and 10 kilometers. Runners may choose among 10, 5, and 3.5 kilometers. Speed walking will be available for 5 and 3.5 kilometers. The three fastest men and women will each win awards for the 3.5K, 5K, and 10K routes. The times will also be noted for speed walkers, but there will be no prizes for them. The University Sports Center is offering a special course to prepare for the Campus Run during the lecture-free period.

A new feature this year is that teams can run together and be scored together. The times of the five fastest team members will be added together. The teams can win prizes, including a gift basket with food from the farm shop of the Domäne Dahlem along with recipes for cooking together. There will be special prizes for the team with the most members as well as for the youngest and the oldest runners. In addition, everyone with a starting number will get free admission to the annual fair (Jahrmarktfest) put on by the Domäne Dahlem.

The Campus Run is being organized by the University Sports Center at Freie Universität. To register, minors will need a written consent form from a parent or guardian. For a small additional fee, it will still be possible to register on the day of the Campus Run until 30 minutes before the start, provided that the participant limit has not been reached. The first race will start at 9:15 a.m. on Fabeckstrasse at the corner of Arnimallee. The 10K run will begin an hour later. The end point is the new building connected to the main complex on the Dahlem campus, the "Holzlaube" on Fabeckstrasse. The award ceremony will also take place there.
