Three Scientists at Freie Universität Elected to Prestigious European Molecular Biology Organization
New Members Are Professors Markus Wahl, Randolf Menzel, and Volker Haucke

Three scientists from Freie Universität were elected to the prestigious European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). A total of 106 new members from 17 different countries were elected. They include Prof. Dr. Markus Wahl, a professor of structural biochemistry, the neurobiologist Prof. Dr. Randolf Menzel, and Prof. Dr. Volker Haucke, the director of the Leibniz Institute of Molecular Pharmacology and a professor at Freie Universität.
The European Molecular Biology Organization, EMBO, was established in 1964 to promote the life sciences in Europe. It aims to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a European research environment where scientists can achieve their best work. Each year new members are elected in recognition of research excellence. EMBO currently has more than 1600 members.
