International Conference on Social Business to Be Held at Freie Universität Berlin
Initiated by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus, participation by former German federal ministers Hans-Dietrich Genscher and Heiner Geißler

The VISION SUMMIT 2008 is being held Nov. 1 and 2, 2008, in the Henry Ford Building of Freie Universität Berlin. Over 50 speakers and 800 participants are expected to participate in discussions under the central theme Social Business – Just Try It! The conference is being held jointly by the GENISIS Institute for Social Business and Impact Strategies, Freie Universität Berlin’s business start-up support center profund, and the Entrepreneurship Foundation. The speakers will include Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus and former German federal ministers, Hans-Dietrich Genscher and Heiner Geißler.
The VISION SUMMIT 2008 will focus on social business, a new worldwide impulse for solving social problems with entrepeneurial methods initiated by Professor Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and founder of the microcredit bank Grameen in Bangladesh. Various panel discussions will be held to facilitate the international exchange of ideas about approaches and perspectives.
Professor Muhammad Yunus, Dr. Maritta Koch-Weser von Bieberstien, CEO Global Exchange for Social Investment (GEXSI), Celso Grecco, founder of the world's first social stock exchange in Brazil, and Peter Spiegel, head of the GENISIS Institute for Social Business and Impact Strategies, will speak on "Social Business and Social Stock Exchanges – Foundation for a New Global Social Market Economy after the Global Financial Crisis?"
There will be a press conference with Muhammad Yunus about VISION SUMMIT on Nov. 2 at 12:45 in the Henry Ford Building of Freie Universität Berlin, Garystraße 35, 14195 Berlin-Dahlem.
