Freie Universität Congratulates Paul Krugman on Nobel Prize in Economics

Economist Is Holder of Honorary Doctorate from Freie Universität Berlin

The president of Freie Universität Berlin, Professor Dieter Lenzen, congratulated Professor Paul Krugman for being awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics. "We at Freie Universität are very pleased about this great honor for Professor Krugman," stated Lenzen. In 1998 Krugman was the recipient of an honorary doctorate from Freie Universität's School of Business and Economics.

Professor Irwin Collier, an economist at Freie Universität's John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies, recognized Krugman as one of the most widely read contemporary economists who has made substantial contributions to the theory of international trade and the analysis of economic locations.

Since 2000, Paul Krugman has been an economics professor at Princeton University. In 1998 he was granted an honorary doctorate from Freie Universität. He also teaches at other renowned universities in the USA and Europe and is the author of numerous books. He is widely known for his columns in the New York Times.
