What is it about?

Universidad Complutense de Madrid will host a Una Europa Summer School on the topic of "Innovative Methods in Future Materials" from 23-27 June 2025. This event will bring together master’s students, doctoral researchers, and academic staff from Una Europa universities for an interdisciplinary exploration of Future Materials. The programme focuses on cutting-edge techniques for material preparation and characterisation, blending theoretical insights from the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, geology, and beyond with hands-on experience at the summer school in Madrid.

What is in it for me?

Doctoral researchers and master’s students at Una Europa partner universities whose research is connected to Material Science or related fields (across various disciplines) are welcome to apply. This is what you can expect from the Una Europa Summer School on Future Materials:

• Gain in-depth knowledge of advanced methods for material preparation, including chemical and physical approaches.
• Explore key techniques in material characterisation, such as spectroscopy, microscopy, and diffraction.
• Develop essential research and professional skills, including teamwork, scientific communication, and presentation techniques.
• Understand the power of interdisciplinary collaboration in tackling complex scientific challenges.

There is no tuition fee for participants. Each participant is responsible for organising and financing their own accommodation for the duration of the five-day on-site programme at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. The university is working to offer affordable campus accommodation, with more details on this to be shared upon admission to the programme. At most Una Europa partner universities, doctoral researchers can apply for Erasmus+ funding for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) from their own university.
