The General Student Council (Allgemeiner Studierenden Ausschuss = AStA) of Freie Universität Berlin offers - in addition to counseling concerning social/financial difficulties - special counseling times for disabled students, foreign students, and questions concerning BAföG (Federal Education Assistance Act, a maintenance grant). At the AStA building, a number of free brochures are available, including one called Sozial-Info.
