The Academic Controlling Office advises and supports the Executive Board in matters related to academic controlling. It oversees university contract negotiations on a conceptual basis together with the Strategy and Planning Office, the Office of the General Counsel, Division II, etc., and advises Freie Universität Berlin on matters related to the performance-based university funding available from the State of Berlin. As required, it also oversees and provides support in additional negotiations between the State of Berlin and Freie Universität (for example, within the scope of special programs). The Academic Controlling Office is further responsible for overseeing the administrative aspects of the performance-based allocation of funds, capacity planning and calculation, supervising and further developing management information systems, and carrying out quality management for the Berlin University Alliance
