The John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies is located at Lansstr. 7–9 in Dahlem, across the street from the State Museum Complex.The John F. Kennedy Institute is one of three central institutes at Freie Universität Berlin. It was founded in 1963 by the political scientist Ernst Fraenkel.The library of the John F. Kennedy Institute is the largest library in Europe specialized in North American media.The John F. Kennedy Institute provides students with a first-class academic education and an excellent research environment.The subjects studied at the John F. Kennedy Institute cover six disciplines: history, culture, literature, political science, sociology, and economics.Within the framework of the German Excellence Initiative, the John F. Kennedy Institute established the Graduate School of North American Studies. It is located at Lansstraße 5.
