Survey of Students Who Have Withdrawn or Otherwise Disenrolled

There are many reasons why students withdraw or change degree programs. Freie Universität Berlin’s goal in surveying students who have withdrawn or otherwise disenrolled is to learn what these students’ expectations were when they started their degree programs at Freie Universität Berlin and for what reasons they have not continued their studies, what their perceptions of the study conditions were, and what might have been able to convince them to continue their studies.

With the goal of improving the quality of studying and teaching activities at Freie Universität Berlin, subjective reasons for changing subjects or universities or for withdrawal are collected in order to identify possible ways to reduce withdrawal rates.

The 2014/15 winter semester marks the second survey of this group, after the one conducted in 2007. For the first time, this survey also includes students who have changed their (core) subject or degree program within Freie Universität Berlin: http://www.fu-berlin.de/en/sites/exmatrikuliertenbefragung/index.html

For further information on the survey and the results of past surveys, please see the evaluation pages of the Arbeitsstelle Lehr- und Studienqualität.
