Schools@university: Sustainability Workshops for Schools at Freie Universität

News from Sep 30, 2016

For the 15th time, Freie Universität opens its doors for schools@university (German: SchülerUni Nachhaltigkeit + Klimaschutz), which takes place under the theme “Learning for a Sustainable World”. 52 schools from all Berlin districts are engaged in this one-week program, sending over 1,500 fifth- and sixth-graders and over 150 teachers to participate in 75 workshops which cover various topics on sustainable development. This year’s program features twelve new workshops and an exhibition on the topic “Tracking Down Hidden Water Consumption” by NaturFreunde Deutschlands e.V. (Friends of Nature Germany). The exhibition, which offers various activities to get involved, is presented in the foyer of the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science and aims to illustrate the relationship between consumption, lifestyle and climate change in food and clothing.
