"To look for networks, for cross—linkages, like the University Alliance for Sustainability does, is one fundamental point for the future. That is true within universities to overcome the frontiers of disciplines and this is true concerning universities and the outside world. Universities need to reflect how they can manage the process in direction for more sustainability. That concerns the management processes for example the use of resources, water, energy and so on, and then universities have to look for their core business what means teaching and research. Sustainability is a need because either we have a sustainable future or mankind will have no future."
