Freie Universität Berlin is one of eleven German universities of excellence. As an international network university, it has established liaison offices abroad in Beijing, Brussels, Cairo, Delhi, Moscow, New York, and São Paulo.
Set up in January of 2010, the office in Cairo aims to increase academic and scientific cooperation between Freie Universität and universities and research centers in Egypt and the Middle East.
