"The Transformative Power of Europe" is the theme of a conference to be held by the Kolleg Research Group "The Transformative Power of Europe" at Freie Universität on December 10 and 11, 2009. The conference will focus on the question of how and in what way the European Union seeks to spread globally its ideas of good political order and good governance. The impact of these efforts on the expansion process and the European Neighbourhood Policy will be analyzed. The conference participants include renowned scholars from England, Jerusalem, Australia, and New Zealand, who specialize in the EU. The event is open to the public, but registration is requested.
