The Global Politics Summer School China is in progress and running through August 29. The summer school is sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and is organized jointly by the Center for Global Politics of Freie Universität Berlin and Fudan University in Shanghai. This year’s theme is "International Responsibility and Global Governance."

The summer school is in its sixth year now. Over 30 Chinese and German students from the master's program in political science and international relations are participating, the German students for the first time. Three scholarships to enable their participation were awarded by the Center for Internation Cooperation (CIC) of Freie Universität Berlin. In addition, cooperation with Siemens China Ltd. was expanded so that several students will have an opportunity to complete an internship at one of the Siemens branches in China following the summer school program.

During the summer school students are taught theoretical foundations and various themes of international politics. In hands-on modules they have an opportunity to test their skills in international negotiations or as advisers for international companies. The program also includes a media workshop in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, discussions with the German Foreign Commerce (AHK) in Schanghai and with the German Ambassador in China, and several excursions.
