German-Chinese Conference to Facilitate New Forms of International Cooperation
Conference "New Forms of International Cooperation - Joint Graduate Programs" to be held March 31 and April 1, 2009

Joint graduate programs between China and Germany are the focus of a conference to be held March 31 and April 1, 2009, at Freie Universität Berlin. Under the theme "New Forms of International Cooperation – Joint Graduate Programs," participants will be given an overview of the latest developments in the area of joint graduate programs – a topic that is currently of interest for universities worldwide. A special focus will be on joint degrees in the P.R. China and Germany. In several workshops delegates will have the chance to discuss the strategic development of joint graduate programs as well as the challenges involved. The first conference day will end with a panel discussion by high-ranking Chinese and German experts.
On the second day there will be a matching process between German and Chinese universities of excellence. Delegates from graduate schools and research clusters of both countries will be given the opportunity to meet their counterparts from institutions with a similar profile in order to discuss options for future joint programs.
