Structured doctoral programs, doctoral colleges, and graduate schools
Beyond individual doctoral supervision, doctorates at Freie Universität Berlin are possible in structured doctoral programs at Dahlem Research School, in which graduate students conduct interdisciplinary research on a topic area, as well as in graduate schools and doctoral colleges in cooperation with other research institutions and universities. These include graduate schools of the German Institute for Economic Research, the Helmholtz and Leibniz Associations, and the Max Planck Society.
