    Am Montag, den 14.10.2024, ab 10:15 Uhr findet eine Begrüßungs- und Einführungsveranstaltung für Studienanfänger*innen der Mathematik statt.

    Die Veranstaltung soll den Neuimmatrikulierten einen Überblick über den Aufbau in den verschiedenen Studiengängen und Hinweise für eine effiziente Anlage des Studiums geben. Einige Hochschullehrer des Fachbereichs, darunter die Studiengangsverantwortlichen und die Dozenten der Anfängervorlesungen werden an der Veranstaltung teilnehmen.

    Anschließend übernehmen die studentischen Mentor*innen der Mathematik, die den Studienanfänger*innen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehen.

    At the beginning of their mathematics studies, many students are confronted with methods and ways of thinking for which they were not prepared at school. While school mathematics is largely visualised, mathematics at the university is characterised by the use of a formal language, precise formulations and strict procedures of proof (axiomatic procedure). The course is designed to facilitate this transition from school to university. In the process, some contents of school mathematics are taken up again and presented in a new way; but also new concepts are considered, which play a role again and again in later studies. The individual topics are alternately presented in a lecture and deepened in small exercise groups through the independent processing of tasks.

    •     First-year students in the teacher training related Bachelor's programme with mathematics as a core subject or second subject

Der Brückenkurs findet in den letzten beiden Wochen vor Vorlesungsbeginn in zeitlicher Abstimmung mit den Orientierungswochen statt.

    Mathematisch-logisches Denken ist für das Lösen von Problemen der Informatik essentiell. Da hinsichtlich dieser Voraussetzungen in den letzten Jahren in den Informatik-Anfängervorlesungen einige Defizite deutlich wurden, werden im Rahmen des Brückenkurses die wichtigsten mathematischen Grundlagen wiederholt. Schwerpunkte sind: elementare Mengenlehre, Relationen und Funktionen, logische Grundlagen, Umgang mit mathematischen Formeln und das Verstehen von mathematischen Beweisen.

    Am ersten Montag der Vorlesungszeit (Mitte Oktober) findet ab 10:15 Uhr eine Einführungsveranstaltung für Neuimmatrikulierte der Bionformatik statt. Nach der offiziellen Begrüßung durch den Vorsitzenden der GK Bioinformatik übernehmen die Mentorinnen und Mentoren mit fach- und studiengangspezifische Informationen und diversen nützlichen Tipps und HInweisen. Außerdem werden das Mentoringprogramm und weitere studentische Initiativen vorgestellt.
