Die Vorlesung behandelt Grundlagen des historischen Denkens und Forschens und führt in zentrale Theorien und Methoden, Probleme, Ansätze und Themen der Geschichtswissenschaft ein. Sie wird von den Lehrenden des Friedrich-Meinecke-Instituts gemeinsam in Form einer Ringvorlesung getragen.
