Additional information / Pre-requisites
Voraussetzung: Erfolgreiche Absolvierung des Moduls "Grundlagen der Geochemie". Nach jedem Vorlesungsteil wird sofort der Inhalt in Übungen angewandt, insofern gibt es keine Trennung zwischen den beiden Veranstaltungsformen am Mittwoch und Donnerstag.

Qualifikationsziele: Die Studentinnen und Studenten besitzen Kenntnisse der gängigen Methoden und Anwendungen von radiogenen Isotopen als essentielle Werkzeuge zur Datierung oder als Tracer geologischer Prozesse. Sie verfügen über ein Verständnis für den Einsatz und die Probleme dieser Methoden. Inhalte: Radioaktiver Zerfall, Massenspektrometrie, Datierungsmethoden (K-Ar, Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, U-Pb), Kristallisations- und Abkühlalter, Schließungstemperaturen, radiogene Isotope als Tracer geologischer Prozesse. Die Inhalte der Vorle- sung werden anhand rechnerischer Übungen vertieft.
