Die Bildung komplexer Wörter durch morphologische Verfahren wird im Mittelpunkt dieses Seminars stehen. Nach einem einführenden Teil, in dem Grundlagen und Theorien der Wortbildung verhandelt werden, werden wir uns insbesondere mit historischen und sprachvergleichenden Aspekten beschäftigen. Im Mittelpunkt werden westgermanische Sprachen (Deutsch, Englisch, Niederländisch und Afrikaans) sthen, aber wir werden immer wieder auch über die Grenzen dieser Sprachfamilie blicken.
