Die Lehrveranstaltung bietet eine Einführung in die Indogermanistik und in ihre Methodik der Rekonstruktion der indogermanischen Ursprache, ihrer Grammatik und ihres Lexikons, einen Überblick über die einzelnen indogermanischen Sprachzweige und deren früheste einzelsprachlichen Vertreter sowie über die Geschichte ihrer Überlieferung und ihrer Erforschung.
