Die Vorlesung vermittelt einen Überblick über die Literatur vom Humanismus bis zur Frühaufklärung. Zentral wird dabei sein, einerseits das Literaturverständnis der Makroepoche 'Frühe Neuzeit' darzustellen und andererseits die zentralen historischen Strukturbedingungen der Literatur von ca. 1450-1750 zu zeigen. Ergänzend wird immer wieder auch ein Blick in die Rezeptionsgeschichte der Literatur dieser Zeit geworfen.
