In diesem Seminar wird es um Sprachkontakt gehen. Wir wollen klären, was es heißt, wenn wir von ‘Kontakt’ zwischen zwei oder mehr Sprachen sprechen. Anhand von Phänomenen aus Wortschatz und Grammatik werden wir die gegenseitige Beeinflussung von Sprachen untersuchen. Gegenwärtig betrifft die Auseinandersetzung mit Sprachkontakt vor allem die Einflüsse des Englischen auf das Niederländische (und das Deutsche); wir werden aber auch die gesellschaftliche Auseinandersetzungen über so genannten ‘Germanismen’ im Niederländischen unter die Lupe nehmen, die in der Geschichte des Niederländischen immer wieder aufflammten. Ein wichtiges Thema des Seminars wird dabei der sprachliche Purismus sein.
