Im Colloquium werden kunsthistorische Abschlussarbeiten (Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten, Dissertationen) im Prozess ihrer Entstehung vorgestellt und diskutiert. Dabei findet ein Austausch in Bezug auf die Auswahl und Eingrenzung eines passenden Untersuchungsgegenstandes oder die Formulierung einer geeigneten Fragestellung und Gliederung ebenso statt wie im Hinblick auf methodische Probleme und das strukturierte Vorgehen beim Abfassen der Arbeiten. Die diversen Projektpräsentationen werden durch die Lektüre ausgewählter Methodentexte, Übungen zum wissenschaftlichen Schreiben und, wenn möglich, durch den gemeinsamen Besuch von Fachvorträgen oder Ausstellungen begleitet.
