Im Seminar werden Themen zur Entstehung und Entwicklung von Neolithisierungskonzepten, zu einzelnen neolithischen Kulturerscheinungen und zu alternativen Narrativen jenseits der Vorstellung einer „neolithischen Revolution“ mit Blick auf verschiedene Weltgegenden und Terminologiesysteme erarbeitet. Wir werden verschiedene Neolithisierungsmodelle diskutieren: Neolithisierung als ökonomischer Prozess, als demographischer Prozess, als symbolischer Prozess, als Prozess sozialer Transformationen, und auch neue bottom-up Ansätze in den Blick nehmen. Wichtige Fundplätze und -regionen werden exemplarisch vorgestellt.
