The course “Information Management” in the B.Sc. program in Business Administration conveys the core tasks and objectives of managing digital information and communication systems. Building on an introduction to scientific theory and research methods in business informatics, the course addresses information management issues at the macro, meso, and micro levels. A particular focus is placed on strategic and operational information management as well as on current challenges of digital transformation in organizations. In addition, the course examines digital innovations, digital platforms and ecosystems, big data, data literacy, and generative artificial intelligence (e.g., LLMs). The course offering is further enriched by guest lectures from academia and practice.
