L The Structure and Function of Neural Circuits II

Gerit Linneweber, Mathias Wernet

Information for students

Additional module information: The Structure and Function of Neural Circuits II

Additional information / Pre-requisites

This course is linked and forms one continuous unit together with ‘The Structure and Function of Neural Circuits I’

Comments

The module deals with general and specialized aspects of modern Neurobiology, with an emphasis on the interdisciplinary field of the investigation of neural circuits in genetic model organisms (mouse, zebrafish, fly, worm). Detailed insight into selected research areas will be provided (molecular neuroanatomy, cellular basis of behavior and its disruption, visualization of neuronal activity using genetically encoded activity sensors, transcriptomics, and disease). Knowledge about modern, relevant research techniques will be acquired and applied. One research paper will be orally presented.
