Die Studierenden verfügen über grundlegende Kenntnisse der mathematischen und physikalischen Werkzeuge in
den Planetenwissenschaften und in der Fernerkundung, insbesondere die fachliche Fähigkeit physikalische Pro-
zesse und Daten selbstständig mathematisch zu beschreiben und zu lösen bzw. zu verarbeiten. Sie können ma-
thematische und physikalische Grundlagen auf spezielle planetenphysikalische Fragestellungen anwenden und
erfolgreich bearbeiten.

Inhalte:
Die Studierenden befassen sich mit mathematischen und physikalischen Methoden in der Potentialtheorie und
wenden diese auf Gravitationsfelder und Magnetfelder an. Ebenso lernen sie die Grundlagen der Fluiddynamik,
Thermodynamik und Strahlungsphysik kennen. In Übungsaufgaben behandeln sie typische Probleme der Plane-
tenwissenschaften und der Fernerkundung und wenden die physikalischen und mathematischen Grundlagen auf
studienbezogene Problemstellungen an.
