Qualification goals:
Students have scientific theoretical and methodological skills in order to develop a suitable research design based on a specific research question from the field of palaeontology. They are able to collect and analyse data independently and can evaluate the results and present them concisely, analogous to a scientific publication or a scientific presentation.
Contents:
Fossils are investigated using modern scientific methods in order to work out processes or patterns of evolution, palaeobiodiversity, functional morphology, taphonomy, evolutionary ecology, palaeoecology, phylogeography, palaeobiogeography or biostratigraphy and/or to answer questions of palaeoclimate and palaeoenvironmental research. The results are presented in the style of a scientific publication or in the form of a scientific presentation.
