At the ZDS Peking or in cooperation with the Center, many types of public lecture events take place, often with well-respected international speakers. Partly these are true high-publicity events, so e.g., in the case of Jan and Aleida Assmann who at the end of November 2015 after their lectures discussed with five Chinese university professors about their theory of cultural memory.
