Up to now, the following conference volumes have been published in German: „Generationenverhältnisse in Deutschland und China. Soziale Praxis – Kultur – Medien“ (De Gruyter 2016, volume 4 of the series "Chinese-Western Discourse") and „Deutsch-chinesische Annäherungen. Kultureller Austausch und gegenseitige Wahrnehmung in der Zwischenkriegszeit“ (Böhlau 2010) as well as the conference report „Eigentum in Deutschland und China in vergleichender Perspektive“ (Verfassung und Recht in Übersee, volume 4/2008). 

On the occasion of the former German Federal Minister of Education Annette Schavan's visit to the ZDS in April 2008, a symposium on "Enlightenment" was organized, which inspired a Sino-German philosophical congress entitled "Enlightenment for the Future" in 2009 in Tübingen. The contributions to the Peking symposium were published in the bilingual volume „Im Namen der Aufklärung“ (Francke 2011).

Other books have been published with the participation of ZDS members, e.g., as co-editors. One example of these is the volume „Preußen, Deutschland und China. Entwicklungslinien und Akteure (1842-1911)“ (Lit Verlag 2014).
