In the framework of a short-term lectureship at the ZDS Peking in May 2017, the sociologist Prof. em. Dr. Detlef Garz (Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz) held three presentations about "Emigration between 1933 and 1940", "Reconstructive Social Research" and "1919-1933: How Germans became Nazis." His stay in Beijing was initiated especially by Prof. Dr. QIN Mingrui, sociologist at Peking University and ZDS member, who had used his research stay in Berlin in the beginning of 2017 also for a talk at Prof. Garz's institute in Mainz.
