The Student Hotel Option

Rental Conditions and Registration


International exchange and program students of Freie Universität Berlin and enrolled international PhD students

To reserve a room at The Student Hotel please email us on the following address: accommodation@fu-berlin.de with a copy of your ID and your acceptance letter to the Freie Universität Berlin. Once your eligibility has been verified, you will then be sent a code with which you can register through The Student Hotel’s website.

There is a certain room capacity agreed upon between the ERG Universitätsservice GmbH and The Student Hotel with discounted price rates. These rooms are assigned on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Any further communication regarding application procedures and rental conditions take place between you and The Student Hotel.

The Student Hotel will charge a deposit equal to one month's rent.

The monthly rent depends on the respective room category:

    Room category Standard: 844 EUR monthly
    Room category Standard Plus: 971 EUR monthly

Rental Period

The minimum rental period is 6 months, the maximum rental period is 12 months. Extensions beyond the period of 12 months are not possible. However, guests may return to The Student Hotel 12 months after their checkout date.

The following rental periods are available for the winter semester 2019/2020:

  •     01 October 2019 - 29 February 2020 (room category Standard and Standard Plus)
  •     01 October 2019 - 31 March 2020 (Standard room category only)

Disclaimer: Kindly note that the opening of The Student Hotel, which is expected to take place on 01. October 2019, may be delayed due to reasons such as and not limited to, delay of the construction works, non-obtainment of the necessary permits and licenses, etc. In the unlikely case that the opening will be delayed, the rental start date will be postponed accordingly. ERG Universitätsservice GmbH is not liable, but will inform the students of any delay as soon as possible.
