The University Bibliography lists publications by Freie Universität Berlin members.

That includes monographs, Freie Universität doctoral theses, whether formally published or not, articles in newspapers and magazines, contributions to edited volumes, conference proceedings, including published abstracts, 'gray' literature, patents and reviews.

Editorships are also documented, if they serve to validate an academic's distinction, as well as television and radio posts, but not mere interviews.

Volumes 1.1981 to 26.2006 of the University Bibliography are available in book form (Location: Information Center, Call number: AB 30870 U58); volumes 24.2004 ff are available as pdf files on the Freie Universität Berlin institutional repository Refubium".

From volume 13.1993 on, the University Bibliography has been published as a cumulative online bibliography,
