Campus Licenses for Citavi and EndNote
Citavi Pro and Citavi Team
Citavi is an intuitive citation manager for Windows-based computers. Available in German and English, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Portugese, it integrates mind-mapping and calender functionalities and other innovative techniques.
The current campus license is valid through the year of 2027. FU students must first download the free version of the program (http://www.citavi.com/de/download/). Students can obtain a license key, necessary for converting the free version into the "pro" version, at the ZEDAT portal (Services – Software). or can use a Login for Citavi 6.
EndNote & EndNoteWeb
The license for EndNote at Freie Universität Berlin will not be extended beyond April 2027. As an alternative, you can continue to use the Citavi software including Citavi Web – also suitable for Mac users. The University Library is currently working on an exit strategy to provide you with the best possible support when transferring your data to another reference management system. From the summer onwards, we will be offering information events on migration options so that you can choose the option that makes the most sense for you. Training courses on switching from EndNote to Citavi or Citavi Web (for Mac users), for example, will follow during the winter semester 2025/26.
If you have any questions, please contact literaturverwaltung@ub.fu-berlin.de.
EndNote, one of the leading citation managers, is currently offered to all FU students through a campus-license model.
