Book a Librarian – Consultations Tailored to Your Needs

Book a Librarian

Book a Librarian

“Book a Librarian” is a free consultation service for all researchers, instructors, and students at Freie Universität Berlin as well as external users of the University Library. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have, whether it’s just a simple introduction to how the library works or a more complex topic like properly citing your sources or how to use a reference management tool. We cater each thirty-minute session to your individual needs.

You can attend your one-on-one consultation on site at the Central Library (Garystr. 39), online via Webex, or even over the phone. Consultations in English are available for some topics.

Wir bieten an:

  • A quick-start guide to the University Library (e.g., how to use the library, loans, etc.)
  • Using the Library Portal Primo to search for library resources
  • Database research
  • Searching press databases / fact-checking fake news
  • Academic writing support
  • Reference management tools: Citavi / EndNote / Zotero
  • Citing sources
  • Quality criteria (peer review / impact factor / h-index / altmetrics)
