Book a Librarian – Consultations Tailored to Your Needs
“Book a Librarian” is a free consultation service for all researchers, instructors, and students at Freie Universität Berlin as well as external users of the University Library. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have, whether it’s just a simple introduction to how the library works or a more complex topic like properly citing your sources or how to use a reference management tool. We cater each thirty-minute session to your individual needs.
You can attend your one-on-one consultation on site at the Central Library (Garystr. 39), online via Webex, or even over the phone. Consultations in English are available for some topics.

How Do I Book an Appointment?
Simply select the librarian who is best suited to helping you with your issue. You can arrange an appointment on their profile via the “Book an appointment” link, which uses the software DFN-Terminplaner. You can book a session during our service hours from Monday to Friday. When you have successfully completed the booking process, you will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details.
