IT organisation at the Free University of Berlin is subdivided into different organisational structures. Departments, central offices, and institutions are organising their IT systems to varying extents independently. In addition, services rendered by service providers acting at central level are also used to varying extents. The interaction of the different departments, in particular, the interaction of devolved institutions and central service providers, has been achieved by establishing certain committees, such as the CIO committee and holding regular work meetings. The introduction of standards and agreements applicable at a university-wide level constitute the framework of this cooperation and the basis of IT deployment.
