Understanding the Shelf Marks and Call Numbers

The Campus Library uses a special call number system to organize its collection and arrange its holdings on the shelves. The call number consists of two capital letters followed by a three- to five-digit number. The call number itself provides information about how the library is organized and where the item can be found. Here is a breakdown of the call number and what the individual components indicate.
