The Cairo Innovation Slam

On the occasion of the awarding ceremony for the Siemens Student Award Middle East 2013 on 9 December in Qatar and as a celebration of the agreement between Siemens Egypt and the DWZ to foster cooperation in promoting innovation at Egyptian universities, the DWZ and Siemens host the first Cairo Innovation Slam, opening the stage to the award’s semi-finalists from Egypt to present their inventions. Recognizing the students’ achievements the DWZ will provide them with trainings in order to further strengthen their research and management skills.

Continuing with the tradition of working towards solving real world problems, this year's Siemens Student Award focused on four challenges that hold the potential to further make the world a more sustainable place to live:
1. Self-Sustained Sensor Systems
2. Biomimicry, Nature Inspiring Technology
3. Imaging and Therapy Rooms of the Future
4. Next Generation of Grid Control - A Cellular Structure

The DWZ aims to bridge the Gap between Science, Education and the Industry. The Innovation Slam will be the first benchmark towards a future collaboration between SIEMENS and the DWZ in promoting innovation. A Letter of Intent will be signed between
