A "Digital Semester" at Freie Universität Berlin for the first time

Apr 30, 2020

“This semester will be completely different from a regular semester”. Tipps to start in the digital semester.

Freie Universität Berlin, together with other higher education institutions, supports the large scale efforts currently being taken in society to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. We can do this by limiting social contact with others and thus reduce the risk of infection. This has far-reaching consequences for teaching, studying, research, and administrative work.

In order to help contain the coronavirus, courses scheduled for this summer semester at Freie Universität Berlin are held using digital formats.

A semester completely without face-to-face events also raises many questions: What do I need to organize to hear my lecture at home? How do I get books and reference materials when the libraries are closed? How do I get to know other students? And how can I keep fit when the university gyms are closed? We have put together a few tips to help you get started in the digital semester here.

The FAQ site is constantly being updated and expanded to answer important questions, for example, about upcoming exams, courses, and alternative services or regulations for parents.
