New Call of the FSGS 2019
New Positions and Grants at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduiertenschule. The application deadline is December 16, 2018.
News from Nov 07, 2018
The Friedrich Schlegel Graduiertenschule offers the following grants for 2019
- up to 6 project scholarships for the duration of 9 months
- up to 6 positions for the duration of three to four years for graduate students working on their Ph.D.-thesis
- 2 DAAD grants for international students of German literature and culture for the duration of three to four years
Project grants support graduates with a Master’s degree in developing a dissertation project in the form of an exposé with the goal of acquiring external dissertation funding, e.g. from foundations. The grants start in June 2019, and applicants are required to have submitted their master’s thesis by that time. We specifically encourage international students to apply.
The Doctoral Studies Programme begins October 1, 2019. The positions for doctoral students include a travel budget. There are special funds that Ph.D. candidates can apply for in order to organize workshops and similar events. For a successful application, proof of financial support through a grant or a research assistant position is required (and must be submitted by September 2019).
The DAAD grants we offer are part of the Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) and are directed at international Germanists who either do not currently live in Germany, or came to Germany no earlier than 2018. After having undergone the selection process, candidates will also have to submit their applications through the DAAD portal; the final decision lies with the funding agency.
The application deadline is December 16, 2018 at 8:00 PM CET. The online portal for applications will be open as of November 05, 2018.
The working language of the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School is predominantly German. More information and details regarding the online application can be found here: www.fsgs.fu-berlin.de/bewerbung
