The Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) of the Berliner Antike-Kolleg has announced 10 doctoral scholarships within the doctoral programs “Ancient Languages and Texts (ALT)” and “Landscape Archaeology and Architecture (LAA)”.

The Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) of the Berliner Antike-Kolleg, a graduate school founded by the Freie Universität Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, has announced 10 doctoral scholarships within the doctoral programs “Languages and Texts (ALT)” and “Landscape Archaeology and Architecture (LAA)”.

 Applications in the fields of ancient studies, geosciences, related disciplines will be welcomed. Applicants are requested to submit comprehensive draft outlines on one or more of the following subject areas:

  •  economy
  •  innovation
  •  identity
  •  natural resource management
  •  the representation, construction and transformation of space and knowledge in ancient (literary, epigraphic, documentary, etc.) texts.

 

The amount of the monthly stipend is 1,300, - €. The standard length of the doctoral program is six semesters. This corresponds to the duration of the fellowship of 2 +1 year. Before the end of the second year there will be an evaluation, the third scholarship year that will be granted after the positive result.
