Science of Intelligence is committed to the development of early-career researchers. The SCIoI doctoral program offers the opportunity to perform research toward a doctoral degree in our diverse, interdisciplinary research and teaching environment. As a doctoral student, you will focus your research around your thesis, gain hands-on experience in different intelligence-related disciplines, and learn to take different perspectives on the matter. Your research will be complemented by an individually tailored curriculum.

Successful applicants will join Science of Intelligence to perform cross-disciplinary research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, control, robotics, computer vision, behavioral biology, cognitive science, psychology, educational science, neuroscience, and philosophy.

Starting dates: Summer / Fall 2022

Duration: 3 years

Salary level: TV-L 13, 100%

All candidates should have the following skills:

  • A very good command of English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent writing skills (research papers)
  • The strong communicative skills required for interdisciplinary research,
  • A conscientious work approach, flexibility, good time management, and ability to
    work in a team.
  • A keen interest in understanding intelligence and the strong communicative skills required for interdisciplinary research

For the PhD positions, we are looking for candidates with Master’s Degrees in Psychology, Educational Research, Human Factors, Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, Computational Neuroscience, or related disciplines.

For the Postdoc positions, we are looking for candidates with PhDs in Biology, Computer Science, Theoretical Physics, Theoretical or Computational Biology, Engineering, Information Science, Veterinary Medicine, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or related disciplines.
